P4/5 WW2 workshop
Today we had a very enjoyable and informative visit from Stephanie (Times Steps Living History); who in her role as Eva Jones, WW2 Billeting Officer, gave the children a feel for what it would have been like to be an evacuee during the War.
During the session the children found out about the importance of identity cards and gas masks. They discovered that during WW2 many of our favourite foods were rationed - like chocolate and sweets!! Through artefacts the boys and girls explored some of the past times that war-time children would have taken part in.
Many thanks to Stephanie for a very engaging session, we gained lots of new knowledge and are looking forward to more WW2 activities in class.
