P.5 & 6 have been working really hard to learn about and prepare for Holy Week and Easter with our student teacher Miss Donnelly. At the beginning of Lent we created our Lenten Resolutions and have been making a huge effort to follow these over the Lenten season. One of our class resolutions was to go to Mass each Wednesday.
We learned about and sequenced the events of Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. In these lessons we learned more about the Last Supper and its connection to the Mass. We had opportunities to discuss, visualise and understand the words and actions of Jesus at the Last Supper, and the words and actions of the priest at Mass. We also focused in detail on the change in mood during Holy Week, from the celebrations of Palm Sunday to the crucifixion of Jesus on Good Friday.
To showcase our learning on Holy Week and Jesus’ Resurrection, we created theses wonderful Easter wreaths showing the events of each day.
