January and February Numeracy Learning➕➗🔢🧮
28th Feb 2025
We have been very busy with our Numeracy learning during this last couple of months. We started the new term with revising our place value learning from Term 1, by making lots of big numbers with Skittles! Some of the class think that sweetie maths really gets our brains working faster! We then moved on to subtracting, using lots of different materials, using pictures and then on paper. Next up was learning about weight - we estimated and measured the weight of lots of different objects, trying hard to be accurate when reading the scales. We also learned how to convert from one unit of measurement to the other 🤩!
We then moved on to learning about fractions and decimals (and percentages for the P.6s). Who knew that fractions and decimals really could be so much fun!?
As always, we had lots of fun with practical equipment and ICT to help us learn more. We have continued to use Mathletics and Times Tables Rockstars to practise our learning and be even quicker on our times tables! Keep up the fantastic numeracy learning P.5 and P.6!
