Grandparents' Pilgrimage at Knock Shrine
Primary 5 and 6 have been very busy writing prayers for this special day for very special grandparents! Have a look... We give thanks for the special gift that is a grandparent – remembering the special moments that we share with Granny and Granda, and others remember those who are now in Heaven but hold a special place in our hearts.
Our prayers have all been sent to Knock and they will be placed on the altar and prayed for during the pilgrimage online Mass on Sunday, September 13th 2020. This day is a celebration of the central and important role that grandparents play in passing the Faith to the next generation. It is no coincidence that the Pilgrimage day takes place on the nearest Sunday to the Nativity of Our Lady which occurs on September 8th. Saints Joachim and Anne were the grandparents of Jesus and are role models for all grandparents.
