Baronscourt Day - Pushkin Trust
On Thursday 6th April our class had a wonderful opportunity to visit Baronscourt in Newtonstewart. We have been taking part in the Pushkin Project this year and have been thoroughly enjoying our work around the theme "Floodtide in the Heart."
Usimg the theme as our stimulus we have been exploring the creative and environmental aspects of the Curriculum and World Around Us. The theme is a quote from Seamus Heaney who was a patron of the Pushkin Trust. Today we had the chance to explore the beautiful grounds of Baronscourt- home to the Duke and Duchess of Abercorn, create clay sculptures, write stories, play drums and use as much of our imaginations as we could! Some groups even got to meet the Duke himself and some of his grandchildren!
It was a marvellous day and one we will all remember for years to come. Our hearts were certainly "flooded"with wonder today.
