A busy half term in P7!
It's been a busy start to the year in P7. Time has flown past with a whole range of experiences inside and outside the classroom. We had the Mid Ulster Cross Country competition in early October, followed by Wear it Wild in St.Colm's High School in the middle of the month and we ended our half term with the first ever Scór na bpaístí competition!
A real mix of sporting, environmental and cultural experiences. As ever our children excelled themselves in all these events with Dara McKenna winning best dressed at "Wear it Wild". Our runners placing in the top 20 out of schools from across mid Ulster some of who, are considerably larger than ours!
Finally in the first ever Scór na bpaístí we came away with 2 first places out of the 3 competitions we entered. Dara McNicholl won 1st place in solo singing with a stunning rendition of "Banna Strand" and our quiz team of Grace-Anne Kelly, Shea Murray, Michael Walls & Erin MCDonald scored 38/40 to win the quiz.
Grace Anne Kelly and Emma Doherty also sang beautifully in the singing competition and were scored very highly by the adjudicator present. All in all a marvellous celebration of our Irish culture and a brilliant performance by the talented children of our school. Well done to everyone!
Looking forward to a new term full of many more exciting opportunities!
