⛪️🙏❤️Celebrating Catholic Schools Week in P.5 & 6❤️ 🙏⛪️

31st Jan 2024

What a special and joy-filled week we had last week celebrating Catholic Schools Week! The theme this year was "Communities of Service", and through the week we looked at lots of ways we can provide service in our community.

On Monday we listened to a favourite story from our P.4 First Penance preparation, Zacchaeus, and looked at how we are called to see the goodness in everyone, just as Jesus did with Zacchaeus. On Tuesday, we thought about how very special our school community is, and of how we can make sure it continues to grow. We created beautiful posters of what we can do to serve our friends, both old and new, in our Catholic School community. On Wednesday we celebrated our family community and reflected on our grandparents.  Our Grandparent Garden of Remembrance helps us to remember those grandparents who are no longer with us, and we created beautiful portraits and cards for grandparents.  On Thursday we learned about our wonderful world and how Pope Francis has asked us to care for this in his letter Laudato Si'. On Friday we celebrated and prayed for all those who provide service in our Faith Community, and we prayed in particular for the priests here in our parish.

At the conclusion of Catholics Schools Week 2024, several pupils were awarded certificates for promoting the spirit of Catholic Schools Week every day - in the values they show and in how they serve each other.

Here in St Eoghan's, as a Catholic school, we are called to help and be kind to each other always. We support and care for each other in our thoughts, words and actions.
